NOW IT’S TIME TO START PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER!
Lesson 5 is all about putting it all together; the material learned in the previous four lessons that is. Gary will now take all the previous information and uses it to show how we can build a familiar song progression across the entire fretboard. This is a challenging, but really rewarding lesson as it opens up the entire fretboard for those of you who have been working hard.
BY LEARNING THIS YOU CAN PLAY IN ANY KEY
Have you ever been in a scenario where the singer could not sing in the “notated key”? Or perhaps you have been with other musicians and they wanted you to transpose the song into another key? If you were stumped on this then this is absolutely the lesson for you to learn. Gary will now take all the elements that he introduced earlier and combine them into a fantastic method for guitar. If you take the ideas and concepts that Gary covers in this video then you’ll be well on the way to being able to play all over the guitar neck. What’s more, you will never be in a situation where your embarrassed as you don’t know how to change key. This lesson is that important and Gary does a great job of explaining exactly what you need to know.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON BARRE CHORDS
Okay, so we hope that if you have watched our putting it all together video that you understand the ideas and concepts presented. If you don’t, or if you are unsure, we would urge you to watch over the previous lessons. The answers for most things lie in these videos. If you do have a question for Gary, then please feel free to send him an email. He’ll be delighted to help you. If you are now really motoring with your barre chords, then you may wish to check out another course on GMI. This course is led by GMI founder Ged Brockie and is called beyond barre chords. It’s a real challenge, but if you are doing well with this course then you may be ready for it. Good luck and check out all our other free course on our How To Play Guitar page.
